Arsenal Best Starting XI For Next Season. Including Petr Cech

With the arrival of Petr Cech at Arsenal, also with the compliment of a fully fit squad, we take a look at how Arsenal might line up next season.

GK: Petr Cech

The veteran goalkeeper needs no introduction and should get the nod ahead of David Ospina and Wojciech Szczesny.

RB: Mathieu Debuchy

If the French defender stays fit, he will most likely be Wenger’s first choice. Known for his quick burst upfront and ability to fall back quickly, Debuchy should start ahead of Hector Bellerin and Callum Chambers at right-back.

LB: Nacho Monreal

The Spaniard became part of a consistent Arsenal side in the second half of last season, and showed he could chip in a goal or two - with his effort against Manchester United in the FA Cup quarter-final. Monreal should get the pick ahead of Kieran Gibbs.

CB: Laurent Koscielny

The Frenchman has done enough over the last 3 seasons to attract interest from Real Madrid this summer, but opted to extend his deal with the Gunners. He’s definitely Wenger’s first choice centre-back.

CB: Gabriel Paulista

Many fans won’t agree with this selection, but I think we need a change of partnership at the back.

Mertesacker upped his performance in the second half of last season, after a slow start to the campaign. However, Gabriel - with his relatively faster pace and quick reflexes, should be given more game time to eliminate any form of complacency from the assistant captain.

DM: Francis Coquelin

The Frenchman is unarguably the most improved player from last season. He is expected to get the nod from Wenger.

CM: Santi Cazorla

The Spaniard was one of the stand-out performers of last season. Santi is expected to start as well, but in a more holding role.

AM: Mesut Ozil

The German is expected to get back his favoured number 10 role, which will enable him perform in full capacity in midfield and assert his presence the more.

AM: Aaron Ramsey

The Welshman could be forced to the side, though not his favourite position; however, he will be expected to cut in at times to provide cover for Ozil.

ATT: Alexis Sanchez

With 25 goals from his debut season at Arsenal, he gets a place in the left attack for Wenger’s side.

ATT: Olivier Giroud

For now, the Frenchman is undoubtedly the most trusted center forward for the Gunners.

  1. Charles

Its like Wenger doesn’t want to sign a solid back up for Cocquelin and Giroud n this will be a big mistake Wenger is making. Look at Man u and Chelsea, they trying to balance their squads but Arsenal seems to be contented with the current squad
