Arsene Wenger is said to have personally asked the Arsenal board to sign the multiple award winning star this summer, and is looking to personally agree a deal with the player, with The Telegraph claiming the Gunners are preparing a huge salary package for the Barcelona ace.
The Sabadell-born midfielder, who rose up the youth ranks at Barcelona’s famous La Masia academy to the first team under coach Pep Guardiola, currently earns £120,000-a-week at Barcelona, and only an increased salary would tempt him to move.
The current highest salary earners at the Emirates Stadium take home £140,000-a-week and it is likely Busquets will be offered a weekly wage slightly above £140,000-a-week which would make him the highest earner at Arsenal should he make the switch to England.
The 27-year-old Spain international has won every club and international trophy he has competed in, including the World Cup, European Cup, 3 Champions league titles, and 5 League titles among a host of several other titles.
