The attacking midfielder has been a long time target for the Gunners, with moves to bring the player to England having been made in the past; but the German had insisted on staying in Germany a little longer.
Earlier last week, Draxler looked to be headed for Juventus, but with the Turin club not able to agree on a fee with Schalke, Boss Andre Breitenreiter has reportedly pulled out of further negotiations with Juventus.
And now, the door seems open for Arsenal to make a move –provided they make a huge bid.
Schalke boss told German newspaper Bild per the Metro that he would not be able to stop Draxler from leaving this summer if the club receives a huge bid for the 21-year-old German international.
‘I want to keep him 100% but I do not know what will happen if we receive a brutal offer,’
The Gunners already have the likes of Alexis Sanchez and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain in the positions Draxler plays, but with Wenger’s unending interest in the star, a move might be ideal now.
