The Barcelona forward who has been linked to Arsenal this summer was reportedly set to move to rivals Manchester United.
But United’s local rivals City now seem to have gotten ahead by bidding £22.85million, which is more than what the Red Devils offered.
Spanish football expert Guillem Balague took to his official account on twitter to announce that United have not met Barcelona valuation of Pedro, and that Manuel Pellegrini’s side have made a move for the forward.
“Few things on Pedro. 1. He doesn’t really wanna go but doesn’t or won’t play enough. He knows he has to go”
“2. United hasn’t reached yet the 30m euros of his buyout clause that FCB demands. But is close”
“3. The treatment from LvG to de Gea will have no influence on Pedro’s decision”
“4. City offer is 30m plus 2, superior to United’s so far. So very much in the equation with United. Chelsea interested but third favourite”
With Chelsea also interested and Arsenal soon to need extra hand on the flanks if Joel Campbell is sold, Pedro’s transfer looks set to be a full blown battle.
